Our beliefs

We are members of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, a denomination which was founded in 1980-81 by those who wanted to form a church that took seriously the words of Scripture, the theology of the historic confessions of faith (Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms), and the evangelical fervor of historic Presbyterians. They envisioned a denomination that was truly evangelical and truly Presbyterian; hence, the name (EPC).*Read more about the EPC - Click Here*

As Presbyterians committed to the inerrancy and infallibility and full authority of the Bible, our doctrinal standards are contained in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Larger and Shorter Catechisms. *Read more about the EPC Beliefs - Click Here*

We also affirm a document entitled “The Essentials of Our Faith” to which Teaching Elders (Ministers) and Ruling Elders must adhere without any exceptions. This document basically follows the outline of the Apostles’ Creed and expresses “the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3) which Bible-believing Christians of all denominations and throughout the world have universally affirmed throughout history. These doctrinal standards provide protection and direction for the life of the church which is centered on the Word of God in worship, preaching, and teaching.

Worship in spirit and in truth must be focused upon the true and living God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – as he is revealed in the Scriptures. Therefore, in corporate worship on the Lord’s Day, all attention must be focused on the sovereign majesty, holiness, righteousness, grace, and mercy of God. At the heart of this God-centered worship is the cross of Jesus Christ and his glorious resurrection from the dead. He lives and reigns over all, and his name is to be exalted over all and his gospel proclaimed to all.

The preaching of the Word, the exposition of Scripture, is to offer the whole counsel of God from the inerrant Scriptures, in the power of the Holy Spirit, pointing to Jesus Christ who is the central subject of the entire Bible (John 5:39).

In the singing of hymns, the offering of prayers, the preaching and hearing of the Word, and the dedication of our gifts and resources, our worship should seek to glorify the God who has created us and redeemed us in Jesus Christ.

The goal of our Christian Education Ministry is to lay a Biblical foundation for the living of lives faithful to Christ in every way, in every arena of life: personal, family, professional, business, and recreational. The study of the Word renews our minds so that we will be transformed into the image of Christ rather than conformed to this world (Romans 12:1-2).
